Events & Ticketing
Switch on Events, build a ticketed event with tiers and add-ons, publish it to your site, and manage everyone who books.
Dashboard only
Running a wine night, a live band, or a ticketed brunch? Events & Ticketing lets you create the event, sell tickets on your own website, and manage everyone who books, without a third-party ticketing site taking a cut.
Turning it on
Events stays hidden until you switch it on. Open Website → Pages & Features and enable Events & Ticketing. Once it’s on, Events appears in the sidebar under Operations. (See Toggling Website Features if you can’t find the switch.)
The three tabs
Open Operations → Events. Like the Reservations page, it splits into tabs:
- Bookings: the day-to-day surface: everyone who’s bought a ticket for a given event, so you can check people in and see who’s coming.
- Events: the list of your events, filtered by Upcoming, Past, or Drafts, as a grid or list.
- Settings: reminders, booking rules, and door payment.
Each event card carries a status badge (Draft, Published, Cancelled, or Completed), a bar of tickets sold against capacity, and the lowest ticket price.
Creating an event
On the Events tab, click New event. The editor walks you through four steps:
- Details: the title and description (in each language your site runs), up to five photos, the venue, and the start and end date and time.
- Repeat (optional): turn on recurrence to spin the event into a series, like a weekly quiz night. A series lists as one card you can expand, and you choose whether a later edit touches one occurrence or the whole run.
- Tickets: one or more tiers (General, VIP…), each with a price, a capacity, and a max per order. Each tier can carry an early bird price that expires on a date you set.
- Extras (optional): add-ons like a drink or a T-shirt, and promo codes for discounts.
A new event starts as a Draft. When it’s ready, Publish it and it goes live on your booking site. From an event’s menu you can also View on booking site, Copy link to share, Duplicate it as a starting point for the next one, or Cancel event.
Warning: Cancelling a Published event refunds tickets that were paid and voids the rest. It can’t be undone, so cancel a live event only when you mean it.
Managing attendees
The Bookings tab (and the Attendees action on any event) lists everyone booked in, with their tickets and add-ons. This is your door list: the screen to work from on the night.
Settings
The Settings tab holds three sections:
| Section | Controls |
|---|---|
| Notifications | Email yourself when a booking comes in or is cancelled |
| Booking rules | Reminder timing, max tickets per booking, and how long checkout holds seats |
| Door payment | Let guests pay at the door instead of only online |
The booking-rule defaults work out of the box:
| Rule | Default |
|---|---|
| Reminder (hours before) | 24 |
| Max tickets per booking | 10 |
| Hold release (minutes) | 30 |
Tip: Keep an event a Draft while you fine-tune tiers and copy. Nothing is public until you Publish. And use Duplicate on a recurring favourite rather than rebuilding it each time.
