Choosing Images from the Stock Library

Not every dish has a good photo ready, and a menu of grey placeholders is the fastest way to make a great kitchen look unfinished. The Stock Library is there for exactly those gaps — a collection of professional food photos you can drop onto an item or a category in a couple of clicks, no camera required.

Opening the library

The library lives inside the item and category editors, not in a page of its own. Open any item (or category), find the photo slot at the top, and next to the upload option you’ll see a Stock Image button. Click it and the library opens over the editor.

Finding the right photo

There’s a lot in here, so the library gives you three ways to narrow it down rather than scrolling forever:

• Search by name at the top — type “burger”, “latte”, “salad” and the grid filters as you go.
• Filter down the left. Orientation (landscape, portrait, or square) is worth setting first, since it decides how the photo will sit in its slot; below it are tag groups like cuisine and dish type, each with a count so you know how many photos match.
• Sort by Popular or Newest from the toolbar. Popular surfaces the photos other restaurants reach for most.

Whatever you pick stacks up as removable chips in the toolbar, and Clear all resets them. Hover any photo and a Use badge appears; click it and you’re back in the editor with that image already in the slot.

Don’t forget to save the item or category afterwards — picking a photo fills the slot, but it isn’t live until you save.

A quick word on fit: a square photo suits an item card, while a wide landscape shot works better as a category cover. Matching the orientation to where the image will show saves you from awkward cropping later.
