Waiter Calls

Let guests call a waiter from their phone — and clear every request from one live board.

Waiter Calls

Catching a server’s eye across a full room is the oldest friction in dining. Waiter Calls fixes it: a guest taps a button on their phone, and the table lights up on your dashboard instantly. No raised hands, no hovering, no flagging someone down.

How It Works

When a guest scans the QR code at their table, your digital menu includes a Call Waiter button. One tap sends a request straight to your team — no app, no sign-in, no waiting for someone to walk past.

Every request lands on the Operations → Waiter Calls board, and a notification fires so floor staff hear it the moment it comes in.

The Waiter Calls page: a live-status banner, filter tabs (All, Pending, Acknowledged) with counts, and cards for each call showing a large table number, a Pending or Acknowledged status badge, how long ago it came in, and Acknowledge and Complete buttons.
The calls board — one card per table, newest first, updating live.

The banner at the top shows whether the board is Live and listening. Each card leads with the table number in big type so it reads across the room, a status badge, and a timer showing how long the guest has been waiting. The filter tabs let you focus on Pending calls that still need a server, Acknowledged ones already being handled, or All of them.

Clearing a Call

Each call moves through two quick steps:

  1. Acknowledge — tap this when a server is on the way. The card flips to Acknowledged, so the rest of the team knows it’s covered and nobody doubles up on the same table.
  2. Complete — tap this once the guest has been helped. The call drops off the board.

That’s the whole loop. The goal is simply that no table waits longer than it should, and no request quietly slips through the cracks.

Tip: Keep this page open on a tablet at the host stand or a screen near the pass. With the table number front and centre, whoever’s closest can grab the call and go.

Why It Helps

  • Guests feel looked after. A request that’s seen and answered fast beats waving for two minutes every time.
  • Your floor runs calmer. Servers respond to a clear board instead of constantly scanning the room.
  • Nothing gets lost. Every call is logged with a timer, so a busy rush never buries a quiet table.

Note: Waiter Calls is built for dine-in service. Calls clear themselves automatically after a few hours, so a forgotten request never lingers on the board into the next shift.

Small feature, real difference — it turns “where’s our waiter?” into a tap that’s answered before the guest even looks up.
